One of the worse races so far this year. Qual was just hilarious for me, as I couldn't get any better time, but just before the qual I got a PB and started getting good splits every lap, and I thought I would go into .34, but no.
1st race was ok, as I managed to get somehow from 17th to 12th.
2nd race was hell. Since I saw that everyone is using only R3's, I decided to do the same. The 1st race with R3's was successful. But for me the tires burn faster since I use keyboard, and every time I turn I basically warm up my tires. Because I can't turn smoothly, I have to press the turn button back an forth to go in the corner...But then, because I was waiting for the place the first 10 laps, I burned my tires a bit accidentally. But they weren't that hot, so I just cooled them down and kept going, but after overtaking one guy in the corner in lap 13, my tire just popped from nowhere. I was a bit shocked, since the tire was like 140 degrees max I think, and I didn't understand why did it blow up. Well and I only felt that something just happened but didn't know it was my tire, so in the next corner when I tried to brake and turn, my car just went straight in to the sand. So then I had to leave the server, because there was nothing I could do anymore...

EDIT: I checked the replay, and it popped even before the turn, because I braked so hard, and I guess there was lots of pressure on it. I started braking late, and I had to avoid Cagaš so I pressed on my brakes so hard that it blew up.

Could someone explain why does the tire blow up, when it's not even that hot, or was it hot enough? I've seen peoples tire blow up, when they are ice cold, why does that happen? I've just never blew up my tire before in any cup, only maybe by doing it on purpose.

Basically because you are using the keyboard, under braking you keeping locking up your front wheels. I guess you could stop this by either reducing your overall brake power in the setup, and / or move the brake bias more to the rear.

IIRC there are 48 contact patches modelled by LFS, and AFAIK if any of these patches of the tyre exceed 200 degrees, the tyre will burst. At some point you probably locked up again, and one of the patches which were probably already very hot, exceeded 200 degrees = tyre burst.

Oh, okay. Thanks, yes, its true, my tires do get locked when I brake hard, that's why I was trying to start braking earlier during the race, so I don't waste my tires, but in that place I just had to brake so fast because of the car in front of me, and that's where the tire couldn't take it anymore.

BTW, when I downloaded everybody's high resolution skins, I was VERY JEALOUS, because the skins are just HOT!

For me it was fail evening, as far as the result goes, because i suck in FZR, but still i was faster in it, than in FXR.
Q: second to last, R1: somewhere around 15. after lap 1 fail, R2: damaged engine and retired, because i was losing 1s per lap and 5-10 kph on oval.

I had some very enjoyable fights though, mainly in second race with Keiran, Andris and David Jagodits. Thanks for that guys. I also want to apologise for some desperate divebomb moves, i guess the main victim was Fletch (though i think it was just light contact).
